PAEMAKO.
The annual meeting of householders was held in the school on Monday afternoon, and considering the time there was a fair attendance. Six nominations were received and as the number required to serve as a committee for the ensuing year was five, a ballot was taken with the result that Messrs Churcher, Evans, Power, Anderson and Buckley were elected. The first meeting of the newly elected committee was held immediately afterwards, when Mr Power was elected chairman and Mr Anderson treasurer: A new house is being erected for Messrs Robison and Evans, and several other settlers intend building shortly The turnip crop throughout the district seems to have been a complete failure, but grass appears to be still plentiful. Several very urgent road works are now almost completed and the improvements will be welcomed by the settlers.
