PUBLIC HALL FOR TE KUITI.

On Monday night last, at a meeting held in Mr E. Kerr's commercial room, Te Kuiti, the matter of forming a company for the purpose of raising sufficient funds to erect a suitable hall for the township was brought forward. Those present were unanimous in supporting the proposal, and after some discussion it was decided to form a company and offer shares at five pounds each, and after the public has had an opportunity of subscribing it is expected that sufficient support will be forthcoming to carry the proposition into effect. The scheme was well received and guarantees, amounting well over £IOO, were received at the meeting. The subject is to be again dicussed at a meeting to be held after the Easter holidays, when the matter will be placed 011 a workable basis.
