MATIERE.
A meeting of householders to elect a Provisional Committee for the Mangapapa Valley school, was held at Mr Olsen's residence, on the 25rd inst, about thirty being present. Mr W. A. Carter was voted to the Chair. After giving a brief history of the school and the object of the meeting, nominations were called for, nine being received. The following were elected :—Messrs Carter (Chairman), Cribb (Secretary), Fanchell, Peacock and Smith. It is intended to have a picnic, and a social evening at the opening of the school.
