STOCK SALES.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Limited, report as follows: —

On February 21st at Hamilton, the advertised number of cattle were yarded. Really well-finished steers sold at from £8 5s to £8 ifs. Cows; heifers apd beef "were in poor demand and sold at low prices. Store steers were required. 2 and 2%-year steers, £3 6s to £3 15s ; yearling steers, £2 3s to £2 7s ; mixed yearlings, £1 16s to £2 is ; strong calves, 19s to £l 4s 6d; springing heifers, £4 2s 6d to £5. A large entry of pigs ail sold. VVeaners, 12s 6d to 15s ; small pigs, 5s 6d to 7s; slips, 19s to 255. At Cambridge on February 22nd, we yarded 800 head of cattle, a number of them being well-bred steers from 18 months to 3 years. Wellfinished steers realised £8 10s to £9 5s ; fat cows and heifers, £4 15s to £6; 3-year fresh steers, £4 19s to £5 2%-year. steers, £4 2s 6d to £4 15s ; 18months to 2-year steers, £3 to £3 17s; yearling steers, £2 Is to £2 7s 6d; mixed yearlings, £1 14s 6d to £2; really good calves, 24s to 30s ; others, 18s to 2ls ; smaller sorts, I2s 6d to 16s. Pigs were wanted, and made : Slips 14s to 19s; weaners, lis 6d to I3s. At Ohaupo on February 26th, forward steers made up to £5 10s; good calves to 275; others 18s to 2ls.
