TE KUITI.
On Monday evening last the prizes in connection with the Church of England Sunday School were given out in Mr "Hetet's Hall, Te Kuiti, when a good number of children and parents were present. Mrs and Miss Melling, who have conducted the Sunday School for about eight years, are about to relinguish their duties, and an opportunity was taken by the parents, and Church of England members, to make them a presentation as a mark of appreciation of their efforts. Mr J. T. Hetet, in a neat speech, referred to the good work these two ladies had done, and regretted that they were vacating their position. He then presented Mrs and Miss Melling with a cake dish and bread fork, and a cream and sugar frame. Mr Seymour, on behalf of the parents, also spoke of the efficient manner in which the ladies had conducted the school. Mrs and Miss Melling thanked the people for their presents and kind wishes, and, while expressing regret at being unable to go on with the Sunday School, sincerely hoped that it would go on flourishing as it had in the past.
