ARIA ANNUAL SPORTS MEETING.
The Mokauiti sports meeting, which was held at Aria, on Friday last, was one of the most successful gatherings yet held in the distrtict. Favoured with beautiful weather a large attendance was assured, many settlers from neighbouring districts being present, while a.'number of Te Kuiti residents were also on the ground. During the afternoon Mr W. T. Jennings, M.H.R., arrived from the Ohura, and was an interested spectator. The whole of the committee worked hard to bring the meeting to a successful issue, and everything possible was done for the comfort of visitors. The majority of the events were very keenly contested and created great excitement. The Mokauiti Cup (for horses) was won by Kaipara and the most suceessful competitors in the other events were F. Julian who won the 440 yds handicap and dead heated for first place in the 220 yds, and E. Harwood who won the handicap chop.The following are the results of the various events: —

Maiden Chop.—W. Bredenbeck I, T. Brough 2. 220 yds Handicap. —H. F. Julian and H. Houghton, dead heat, R. Coburn 2.
