SPORTING.
The Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting proved to be a record this year, both in point of attendance, and totalisator receipts. The Cup on Boxing Day was won by Master Delaval, with Grenade second, and Paritutu and Akarana a dead head for third place. The Railway Handicap was wen by the Waikato owned mare, Miss Winnie. The Summer Cup on the second day, was won by Landlock, and Mr N. I. Hunt's horse, Keepstep, was successful in a race on the same day. On New Year's day, the A.R.C. Handicap was won by Akarana, the Derby went to Zimmerman, who scored an easy win over Volume and Cambrian.
