RAURIMU.
o A very painful accident happened on the Raurimu section of the main trunk line on Thursday, November 29th. A party of men, working in cutting 241 a, were blasting out rock and thinking one of the charges had missed fire one of the party, a man named A. Binstead, returned to examine the charge, when it exploded. The unfortunate man was blown some distance and received very serious injuries. His leg was broken and there were several severe flesh wounds about the head and face. His mates quickly manufactured a bush stretcher and conveyed 'him to Raurimu, where the wounds were temporarily dressed. The man was then sent to the Hamilton Hospital, and is reported to be doing as well as can be expected.
