Mr Jacobi, who has long, represented an Auckland firm through this district, has now gone to Taranaki.
Mr R. McCardle, of Raglan (brother of Mr McCardle, Te Kuiti), who has been suffering from a severe attack of pneumonia is now on a fair way to recovery.
Mrs Robt. Edgar, of Te Kuiti, leaves for a visit to Queensland on Monday and expects to be absent for about three months. Messrs Small and Parker intend erecting a flaxmill at Marakopa.
Mr Louch, Engineer in charge of the northern extension of the Main Trunk Line, has been in indifferent health lately, and has gone to Auckland for six weeks' rest. Mr T. Burd, District Road Engineer, has been suffering from a severe attack ofvinfluenza, but is now recovering. " .
MrF. W. Lang, ex M.H.R. for Waikato, is mentioned as a probable candidate for the Manukau seat, rendered vacant by the death of Mr M. M. Kirkbride.
Dr.' Bronte, who recently visited the King Country, has been chosen as successor to Dr. Monk, at Huntly.
