o Owing to the road being unfit for heavy traffic, it has been impossible to get the timber for building the Niho Niho and Waikaka Suspension bridges, on to the ground, and the material is still lying at Ongarue Staion. However, the recent fine spell of weather has improved the roads considerably, and the work of hauling the material to the bridge sites, will be undertaken as soon as possible, when the erection will be pushed ahead:
