Kaikoura Defence Rifle Club.

A general meeting was held at the Club Hotel on Saturday night, Mr F. Parsons (Captain) presiding. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and passed, after the Chairman had explained that his medal for the best aggregate for the season was allotted to all tiring in open matches only. Mr Parsons also stated that S. A Maxton <fc Co. had promised to give £1 Is to the highest aggregate. The report of the Ball Committee was read and showed a balance to credit of 18s. Votes of thanks were passed to all donors of prizes for the shooting on Wednesday lpst:tothQSCwl'o were instrumental in collecting the those ladies and gentlemen who worked so hard for the social. The Chairman reported having seen Capt. Wood and Lieut. Allison and there was no doubt that the K. M. R. would bear half cost of the butts. The date of the annual meeting was fixed for Wednesday, October 17th. The following were appointed a Shooting Committee far the season:— Messrs White, Parsons, Haswell, Horner, and A.Renner. It was decided that Mrs Parsons’ Cup should be shot for on the second Wednesday in November, December, January, and February, and the Secretary was instructed to notify the K. Al. R, and ask them not to clash with those dates. Various minor items were discussed, and the meeting adjourned.
