SOUTH AFRICA. London, Sept 12 It is officially stated in Johannesburg that the £3,000,000 allotted for compensation has been charged to the Imperial Exchequer, and also £2,000,000 for the compensation of the British subjects, natives and foreigners, who maintained neutrality during the war. These amounts are independent of the Military Compensation Board’s payments. The Imperial Cold Storage Supply Company proposes to acquire South African and Australasian Cold Storage Companies for £1,050,000. The Imperial Company will increase its capital to two millions, and secure subscriptions amounting to £lOO,OOO as additional capital.
