Hemp is reported dull in the London market, but as £35 to £3B are prices quoted the matter is not dispiriting. Cheese very firm at 51s in London. The London mutton market is firm, prices for Canterbury and Dunedin having advanced onesixteenth of a penny per lb. Lamb, too, is in good demand, s|d being the quotation for the Canterbury brand. Oats are still rising in price in the markets of South Canterbury, 2s IJkl to 2s 4d being delivered in truck quotations. Messrs Thompson Bros., Wellington, report for the period ending March 7 ; s frfilovv.s Potatoes : Increased demand. Selling at from 3/- to 3/6 per cwt. Onions: £5 10s per ton. Cabbages: 2/6 to 3/6 per sack. Green Peas : 3d to 6d per peek. Tomatoes : 3/- to 4/- per half-case, choice lots. Eggs : 1/1 to 1/2 per doz. Butter : Dairy, 74d to 8d ; separator, Bld. Poultry: Fowls 2/9, ducks 3/6 to '4/-, per pair.
