Twenty fi*o dead Boers were left on the field and thirty wounded. Steyu and Do Wet escaped. Detail* of fight show that De Wet was crossing the Vaal 65 miles S.W. of Johannesburg. De Lisle's guns and British centre poured in a terrible fire exploding ammunition waggon and killing 6 Boers. Enemy abandoned 5 Krupp guns and attempted to erois during night. Galling fire was kept up by Le Gallais’ column, which drove Boers towards other British forces. Ram storm saved De Wet from sapture.
