Sheep Returns.
The annual sheep returns for the Colony have just been completed by the Stock Department, and they show an increase of 850,460 sheep within the year ended 30th April, last. Particulars of the Canterbury-Kaikoura division show 5,744,668 sheep, increase 259,687 ; number of owners 3,671, increase 312; sheep rate £5,745, increase £260. Marlborough-Nelson, 887,582 sheep, increase 52,422; number of owners 1389, increase 57 ; sheep rate £BBB, increase £53.
