RACING .
V. R. C. Spring Meeting.
Loyalty did not start in the Cup, O’Brien saying he would allow others to chase Ruenalf. The favourite made all his own running and was in the lead half way down the straight, where he was cannoned against, just as Moran was reaching the point he was tolh to rid hard home. Deven bumped against Nada, Nada rolled against Taranaki, who knocked Reunalf on to the rails. Moran called out, being nearly thrown out of the saddle and his boot torn for several inches by contact with therails. Ruenalf rebounded, but was thrown out of his stride, and was with difficulty set going again. Moran declares Reunalf would have won easily but for this, as the horse was going well whe rolled against. Others bold that Nada, 4yr old daughter of Trenton, would have won bad she not been knocked against at same time as Reunalf, as she finished third very gamely. Tbreefourths of the riders were apparently impressed with the idea that the race was over as soon as Reunalf took the lead, and they refrained from wearing him down. The time, 3 * 31, is not equal to record. Third Day : MELBOURNE, Nov 8
