Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill passed through Committee in Legislative Council. An amendment proposing to strike out a clause bringing railway employees within the scope of the Bill was lost.

Poisons Importation and Carriage Bill passed by the Council.

Debate on second reading of Land for Settlement Bill resumed in the House, and further adjourned at 2 a.m. At 12 o’clock several Govt supporters wished to adjourn, but the Minister of Lands objected, the House supporting him by 27 to 25. During the discussion some hot words passed between McKenzie and some Govt supporters, McKenzie threatening to resign if adjournment was carried.
