Cowboy’s Exhibition.
Next Saturday afternoon, at 2 o’clock, an exhibition of skill in equestrianism is to be given by two ‘ cow-boys,’ whose skill in riding fiery and untamed animals—horses or bullocks —is said to be phenomenal, and their exhibition of riding a revelation to many, quite an eye-opener in fact. The quiet, business-like, manner in which they go about their riding, the patience they display in dealing with refractory animals, and the ease with which they ride them, is surprising. Their exhibition is a very clever performance, and one that should not be missed by anyone who is fond of riding or witnessing good horsemanship. Don Felix, when in Auckland, mounted and rode a huge, very wild Hereford bullock within four minutes. On buck-jumpers the ‘cow-boys ’ seem to be just as much at home as when sitting on a chair partaking of a meal. Their skill with the lasso is said to be marvellous, something like Max Adeler’s armless hero, who embraced his betrothed by throwing a lasso over her with bis teeth and swallowing the slack of the coil.
