The foregoing was in type for last issue, but was crowded out. Fuller particulars of the legislative action taken shows that had the Government, and Legislature, not agreed to act as ‘ wet nurse* to the Bank of New Zealand it would have suspended business. The Government are to have a very large measure of control over it ; a Government nominee is to be Chairman of Directors ; the Colony is to appoint an Auditor; and, generally, the Government are to supervise the .management ofaffairs.
