Payment of License Fees.
Quoth the Rangiora Standard of last Wednesday : “ It is well to remind publicans that their license fees must be paid to the local authority who has the management of the Municipal or Road Board affairs of the district in which their houses are situated."
Had we so reminded the publicans of Ashley some residents here would have charged u? with intentionally misleading licensees. What do they say of the Standard's direction ? What can they say that is logical in the face of Section 109 of the Licensing Act, 1881, which the Standard interprets as it plainly reads.
