Addington Market.
CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday Messrs Pyne Co. report on Wednesday’s market as follows : There was a light market at Addington yesterday. There was firm demand for good freeeing sheep at 13s Gd to 15s; also for prime heavy crossbred wethers, up to 15s fid and 16s; for crossbred ewes 8s and 9s up to 12s. Merino wethers from 8s to 9a ; crossbred lambs from 8s 7d to 10s.
For fat cattle competition was weak, and prices were somewhat easier. Best steers made £7 to £8 12s fid , heifers £6 to £7 10s; fat cows £5 5s to £6. In store cattle there was very little enquiry. For store sheep there was slightly better competition : crossbred lambs to 6s; two tooths 10s Gd to Ils 6d; crossbred ewes, in lamb, 8s to 9s.
