George Thomas & Co. report wholesale produce prices as follows:
Sheaf chaff very plentiful, and same remark applies to potatoes. We quote— Prime short oats Is lod to Is lid; fair to good feed Is 9d to Is lOd per bushel; oatmeal varies according to brand from £8 las to £lO ; oaten sbeaf chaff, best, 75s ; fair, 65s to 70s per ton ; roller flour £7 las to £8; stone process £7 to£7 10a; bran plentiful at 60s ; pollard scarce at 80s per ton ; fowls’ wheat 2s 6d. Fair demand is now springing up for seed potatoes, including early rose, ashleaf, flukes, breezes, prolifics, lapscones, etc., which are ruling from £4 10s to £6 per ton. Prime Derwent potatoes 50s to 55s ; ehcese 4Jd to 5d ; hams and bacon Bjd ; bacon 7Jd ; fresh eggs Is 9d ; limed do Is Id ; separator butter lOd ; dairy 7d to 8d ; salt, in kegs, unsaleable ; fowls 2s 6d ; ducks 3s 6d ; turkeys 6s per pair.
