On motion of Mr Parsons, it was resolved that Government be urged to reserve 100 acres, more or less, on Blind river property, now being surveyed, as an accommodation reserve, and that it had better be in the portion adjacent to the road and nearest Flaxbourne. Mr Parsons asked that 30 acres of Hapuka village settlement be dealt with.

Surveyor-General wrote stating that Minister for Lands is informed that there are blocks of land in the district that might be thrown open for settlement, and asking for report. Board resolved that in their opinion a topographical survey is absolutely needed of all the land in the Upper Pelorus district as soon as possible, and the Board will be glad to hear what steps are being taken towards obtaining a topographical survey of the country South of Kaikoura.
