LONDON, Jan 24 Lord Ripon, Secretary of State for Colonies, yielding to pressure from Huddart, has undertaken to first consider question of subsidy on behalf of Fiji in connection with proposed Pacific cable. Agents General and Sir C. Tupper, along with Huddart, asked Marquis of Ripon, Secretary of State for Colonies, to grant subsidy to Huddart, Parker & Co’s mail steamers.
