N.Z. AMATEUR ATHLETIC AND CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING.
The above sports take place on Thurday and Friday next, the loth and 11th. This being the greatest event Of its kind held in New Zealand for several years past—champion pedestrians having come so far away as Australia and from all parts of the North and South Islands of New Zealand—'it will be the first opportunity of seeing such a display of athletics. We strongly recommend our European and Maori friends to rally up, as every facility- ii given for a rattling two days' sport. We wish- the meeting success, financially and otherwise, as the energetic committee have spared no pains to place before the public such an extensive undertaking.' •"
