THE KEELY MOTOR.
There is said fo bo much talk in, American scicniific circles about the Keely Motor. Mr Keely, n workinjr map, declares that by weans of a mac Mo* winch he lias invented, he can, without Mi© use of fuel, nnd by nereiy furtim^ a handle, generate out of water a vapourao much more powerful than steam that with, ; a gallon of T?ater ho can drive a heavy ; train from Philadelphia to Ran Francisco • mi ! with a hothead lie could impel a Canard steamer fro;.i Liverpool to New \< rk against a c ■niinuous westerly n a ]o The inventor, it is siated. has induced* Mr Collier, a patents solicitor, to examine into the matter, v.ao was so struck with what he san- that bo got a scientific totn to verify it. Both agreed that Keely did actually produce extraordinary results but they could not tell how these results were obtained. The Chief Engineer of the I nited Sates Navy, who witnessed the exjenments, was equally assured that the thing was actually done, but equally at a loss to explain the doinjj of it. Mr Collier then formed a company in New York. A small capital for carrying out £ c £ reliminar 7 experiments was raised. Mr Keely is said to- hare refused to receive a cent until the world has been thoroughly conduced of the reality of his. invention, and until patents have been secured in every country.
