KEEP IT DARK.
Very excellent progress has been made with the general works, and it may unquestionably be stated that this mine is now of gi eater value than it has been since the first ton of stone was broken down. The face on the main levei dis* closed this morning seven fe«t of a fine solid lode, with two excellent walls, gold
being plainly visible, and may certainly be set down as bearing every indication of permanency. For over 100 feet in length this same lode has been driven on, varying from ten to four feet thick, and gold being easily disoerned in the stone underground, denotes an improvement in the quality. In the remarkably short space of a week two hands have carried the whole of the pipes from the Victoria claim, Murray Crek ; to this mine, and are now fixed in the tunnel and carried to the face, thus clearing the powder smoke in* slantly. A rise has been started, and in which the reef bears the same form and solidity. In the course of a few weeks this mine will undoubtedly occupy a most prominent position on the field.
