£327 WANTED'
TASK FOR KEREPEEHI ALL PURPOSES APPEAL ANNUAL MEETING HELD There was a large attendance of residents at the annual meeting of the Kerepeehi Patriotic Committee held in the Kerepeehi Hall on April 26. Mrs A. L. Fisher presided. Mr T. Jordan gave a report on a meeting held; at Ngatea and advised that Kerepeehi’s quota was £327 Ils 3d for this year. Mr D. G. McMillan said that he would like to pay tribute to Mr A. Hayes whose idea it was to hold a gala day on Easter Monday, also to Mr H. G. McGowan for all the work done by him in organising the gala day and that a letter of appreciation be sent to him. The following officers were elected: —President, Mr P. G. Pearce; secretary, Mi* J. E. Smith; executive committee, Mesdame's A. L. Fisher, E. Taylor, A. Hayes, R. Reddy, T. Jordan and D. G. McMillan and Messrs H. Collins, T. Jordan, A. Hayes, G. McGowan, H. G. Candy, D. G. McMillan.
The executive committee was given authority to arrange social activities to raise funds towards the quota. ■
Miss M. Poland advised the meeting that the young people were forming a club in Kerepeehi and that they would like to help towards raising money for the patriotic committee.
Mr P. G. Pearce and Mr D. G. McMillan, said that it was a grand gesture on behalf of the young people and that they be encouraged and helped in every way.
