MASQUERADE BALL
COROGLEN FUNCTION PATRIOTIC FUNDS AIDED VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENING The fancy dress ball arranged by the Coroglen Patriotic Committee was a huge success and realised over £2O. The dresses chosen by the dancers were lovely and of course the original ones deserve great credit. It was a very difficult. task the judges had to perform. Ruddock, “A Witch” and Mr Eric Hamilton, “Swagger Man.” Special prize to Miss F. Hamilton, “School Girl.” The Allied Nations were well represented as well as
neutral ones. A well known local farmer fluttered in on his silver fairy wings and a “Serpentine King” was very busy topdressing but with floor powder this time. “Elizabeth Barrett” wore a lovely frock but the cluster of'brown curls was, missed.
Mrs Rose assisted by Mr A. Ruddock played excellent music and the dance went with a swing all evening. The grand march was headed by the “Scarecrow” and two chic UjS.AI “naval lads” led off.
