CLEANING OF DRAIN
SUBSIDY FROM BOROUGH APPLICATION TO COUNCIL An application for a subsidy towards the cost of clearing the Opukeko drain from Thames road to the railway line, a distance of 85 chains was received at the April meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council from Messrs Clarke, Kennedy, Harold Wood and Norman Millar. They pointed out in their application that the council had previously assisted with finance towards this work. They emphasised the need to keep the drain open. It was decided to make the usual contribution.
