PAEROA LAWN TENNIS CLUB FUNCTION AT THE COURTS The official closing of the 1943-44 season of the' Paeroa Lawn Tennis Club was held recently. Before declaring the courts closed for the season, the president, Mr J. J. Hill spoke of the enjoyable and successful season the club had experienced despite the shortage and bad condition of the balls. He thanked the members and committee for their co-operation andi good-will throughout the year. On behalf of the club he conveyed to> those willing- and enthusiastic members who did the work at the courts a hearty vote of thanks. The secretary, Mrs H. 'Handley was also thanked for the fine services she had rendered to the club. The winners of the various events were congratulated and all those whotook part in the tournament for the splendid tennis produced in the games. The members were reminded' of next year being the club’s 21st. birthday and that they rally around and make the year a memorable one. In conclusion the president spoke of the fine work Mr H. Thorp had rendered to the club. He was also a foundation member and had held all the executive positions in the club previously.

The courts were then declared closed for the 1943-44 season.
