CLERK’S SUCCESS

REMARKABLE COLLECTION OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL When the financial statement for the year ended March 31, 1944, was under discussion at Wednesday’s meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council, the county clerk, Mr A. A. Jenkinson and his assistant, Mrs Gallagher, were coi-dially congratulated by the chairman, Mr W/ Marshall upon “the quite remarkable rata collection” disclosed by the statement. Councillor T. Barrett, who seconded the chairman’s motion for the adoption of the financial statement, endorsed Mr Marshall’s reference to the county clerk’s success in collecting the rates.

Mr Jenkinson expressed grateful acknowledgement of the council’s appreciation of his efforts.
