LOCAL ELECTIONS BILL

PAEROA CONGRATULATIONS LABOUR PARTY RESOLUTION The monthly meeting of the Paeroa branch of the New Zealand Labour Party was held in the Labour Party Rooms on Monday night, when an exceptionally large attendance of members was present, the chairman, Mr C. C. Webb presiding. Among the correspondence received was a copy of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Bill and after lengthy discussion the following resolution to be forwarded to the Acting-Prime Minister and the member for Thames, Mr J. Thorn, was carried unanimously. The resolution read as under:— “This branch of the New Zealand Labour Party congratulates the Government on bringing before Parliament the Local E eciions and Polls Amendment Bill and successfully placing same on the S.a.ute Lock of this country.
