MISS D. TROUGHEAR HONOURED EVENING AT MERCURY BAY Twenty-first celebrations were the order of the day on April 9, when Mrs Troughear of Whitianga, entertained in honour of her daughter, Dorothy. Earlier in the evening a dinner party was held and later all the members of the younger set were invited along. The lounge and dining room were artistically decorated with lovely flowers. Mrs Trougher wore a smart frock of navy and Dorothy a lovely white embossed georgette frock. The supper tables were beautifully set and laden with a delicious variety of everything imaginable. Pride of place was the white iced cake, with the usual 21st. -golden birthday key. The usual toasts were honoured, including a toast to Dorothy’s two brothers serving in the Pacific.
