Mr W. O’Brien and Mr T. Crosby, of Paeroa, are holidaying at Coromandel. A resolution of sympathy with Mr C. W. Kennedy, a member of the board who is an inmate of the Thames Hospital, was passed at a meeting of the hospital board on Tuesday. Dr. J. B. Liggins is acting-medical superintendent of the Thames Hospital : n the absence on holiday of Dr. E. Gifford. Mr James Thom, M.P. for Thames, was elected chairman of the Goldfietea and Mines Committee of the House of Representatives during the recent session.
