VERCOE’S SALE IN PAEROA
DEMAND FOR FATS AND BONERS "Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Co. report that there was a large yarding of fat and boner cows' at their sale held, in Paeroa on Monday and these found a buoyant market. There was a medium entry of pigs which sold at firm late rates while a small entry of sheep sold readily. Quotations: — Heavy fat Shorthorn and Friesian cows, £8 4s to £9 13 s; medium, £6 18s to £7 10s; heavy fat Jersey cows, £6 4s to £6 16 s; medium, £5 14s to £6 2s; fat heifers, £6 10s to £6 17s; lighter, £4 Ils to £5 12s; heavy boner cows, £5 to £5 12s Gd; medium, £4 10s to £4 15s; lighter, £3 18s to £4 7s 6d; cows with calves, £5 5s to £6; potter buLs, £6 5s to £7 10s; lighter, £4 12s 6d to £6; forward Jersey cross steers, to £7 9s; medium store do., to £4 2s 6d; mixed colour heifer calves, £3 3s to £3 12s 6d; Jersey heifers, r.w.b., £6 10s to £7 10s. Prime baconers, £4 9s to £4 14s; medium and light, £3 12s to £4 8s; heavy porkers, £2 18s to £3 3s; light porkers, £2 5s to £2 7s. Fat wethers, to 28s; aged ewes, tc 9s 6d.
