Cpl. S. J. Fisher is reported as missing believed prisoner of war in a recent casualty list issued by the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Mrs B. Fisher of Coromandel is his wife. Mrs K. White has returned to Whitianga from a holiday in Auckland. Mr and Mrs J. W. Smith and Mrs P. Foster of Mercury Bay, are on holiday in Auckland. Mrs F. Johnson of Waihi and her son .Sapper 2W. Johnson (on furlough from the M.E.F.) are visiting relations and friends in Whitianga. Mrs Troughear has returned to Whitianga • from a holiday, spent in Auckland. Mi's W. Walker and her daughter, Mrs Hill and Tony, have returned to Whitianga from a month’s holiday. Mr and Mrs P. Turley, arg at present in Whitianga foi* the Easter holidays. Miss H. Warren and her sister of Hamilton, are spending a few weeks’vacation at Mercury Bay. Miss Freeman has been transferred to Auckland and Miss Mountfort is at present the dental nurse for the Mercury Bay district. L.A.C. John Simpson is on leave and visiting his parents, Mr and Mrs Arthur Simpson of Mercury Bay. Mrs Russell and her son Walter, returned to Whitianga from a week in Te Aroha and Thames 1 . Walter broke his arm some weeks ago when he fell from a truck outside Mr Russell’s garage.
