KITCHEN EVENING

FUNCTION AT KEREPEEHI MISS NICHOLSON RECIPIENT LARGE ATTENDANCE AT HALL There was a large attendance at a kitchen evening tendered in honour of Miss I. Nicholson and Mr G. Greig in the Kerepeehi Hall on Monday night. The function had been organised by the Kerepeehi Basketball Club.

Music was supplied by Mrs A. P. Innis, Messrs C. Harvey and B. Benney. Mr A. Cole acted as M.C. and Mr J. E. Smith was in the ticket office.

The cards were won by Mrs Wentworth and Mr Leamonth and the first Monte Carlo by Miss Milne and Mr E'. Quinn while Miss J. Candy and ‘Mr E. Bennett won the second Monte Carlo.

. Miss D. Clark president of the Kerepeehi Basketball Club, presented Miss Nicholson with a pyrex dish on behalf of the basketball girls. Miss Nicholson suitably replied.

Mr P. G. Pearce in asking Miss Nicholson and Mr Greig to come forward to open their parcels, said that Inez was well known in the district, having been here nearly all her life. Her parents and grand-parents were also old residents of the district and well-known for their keen interest in the sporting life of the district. Mr Greig expressed his thanks for the gifts received.
