GOOD SALE HELD AT KOPU COW BEEF IN SHORT SUPPLY Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that at their fortnightly Kopu stock sale at Kopu on Tuesday last there was a medium entry of cattle, pigs and lambs which met with keen demand and sold fully at late rates. Bacon pigs were in keener demand and realised to £4 6s. Porkers and light stores were still wanted and sold firmly but small weaners were dull of sale. The advertised entry of lambs sold freely, one line changing hands at 19s 3d. Good cow beef was in short supply and sold under very keen competition, best cows realising £9 7s 6d to £lO. ss. They quote:—Baconers, £3 16s to £4 6s; porkers, £3 2s to £3 8s; large stores, £2 12s to £2 16s; small, £1 15s to £2 14s; slips, 22 s to 31s; weaners, 9s; lambs, w.f., good, 19s 3d; medium 16s 6d. Heavy cows, £9 7s 6d to £lO 15s; medium, £6 15s to £7 15s; lighter, £5 5s to £5 15s; heavy boners, to £4 15s; lighter, £3 5s to £3 17s 6d.
