SECTIONS SOLD AT SALE VERY FEW BIDS OFFERING HOUSE BOUGHT FOR £2200 There was only a small attendance • ra * and very little bidding at the auction sale held in Paeroa on Wednesday when Messrs E. C. Day, Ltd., acting under instructions from the Official Assignee, sold the residence in Wood street, and five sections, on behalf of ® Mr J. Sullivan. Only two bids were received for the seven-roomed two-storey residence, Mr S. (Grundy, of Manurewa, opening with a ibid of £2OOO. Another bid for £2loo' was quickly accepted by the auctioneer and Mr Grundy replied with a rise to £2200. As. no other bid was forthcoming the house was eventually knocked down to Mr Grundy. In the sale of the sections the auctioneer had difficulty in securing a foid ! and eventually 'brought the price down to £5O. This was then run up to £6O and knocked down to Mr H. Wylde of Paeroa. Another section was sold to Mr C. Gleadow of Paeroa for £55 while the other two sections were sold for £3O each to Mr R. Crawford of Putaruru. The section in Lewis street on which is erected a large iron shed was sold for £l5O to Mr B. Gwilliam Snr., of Paeroa who states he was acting for Mr A. W. Wight of Paeroa.
