THREATENED TO SHOOT

YOUTH BEFORE PAEROA COURT SEQUEL TO SHOOTING TRIP For threatening to shoot Frederick Ngawiki, a youth, Gordon Lawrence Chaney was fined £1 by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Paeroa Court on Monday. Constable J. L. Brown stated that Chaney with four other young men was out shooting at Tirohia. The party had no right on Ngawiki’s property and when the owner left his cowshed and asked them to leave Chaney told Ngawiki to keep quiet or he would shoot him. Chaney did not point the gun at Ngawiki but had it in his- hands. The party then left the farm. The Magistrate issued. a warning to Chaney, pointing out the seriousness of his offence and imposed a fine as stated above.
