AWAITI DRAINAGE

LETTER FROM THE MINISTER FRESH SURVEY OF PROPOSALS A letter from the Minister of Lands regarding drainage matters at Awaiti was read at a recent meeting of the Thames Valley Drainage Board. This was as follows:— “In connection with the proposed installation of a de-watering scheme, I wish to advise that a fresh survey of the proposals for a pumping scheme is in hand. The local power board has been consulted and is giving consideration to the question of providing power. The pump required for this installation is not in regular supply and endeavours are ’being made with a view to obtaining one. This may necessitate overseas enquiry.”
