COMPLAINT BY COUNCILLOR POSITION ON THE PENINSULA At the March meeting of the Coromandel County Council Cr. H. C. Bull mentioned the damage done to Whangapoua road recently by the heavy rain and' blocked culverts. He commented adversely on all' the roadis and pointed out the damage that could be averted if the culverts and watertables were cleared. The engineer, Mi’ A. H. Benham, stated that no permanent surfacemen were employed because of the shortage of labour. It was impossible to get the men they had; all over the place at once. Cr. A. J. Denize advocated using the grader more, particularly in cleaning water tables.
