Misses Patricia and Margaret McCabe of Hamilton have returned to Whitianga for a holiday. Both are on the staff of the Waikato Hospital. Miss Mona Brien returned to Whitianga from a holiday in Auckland. Miss Gwen Floyd of Tauranga is the guest of Miss Elva Robinson, of Whitianga. Mrs A. Simpson, of Mercury Bay, spent the week-end in Thames. Mr and Mrs C. B. Jones of Mt. Albert enjoyed a few weeks’ holiday at their daughter’s residence, Mrs R. Smith’s, in Mercury Bay. Mr and Mrs C. Norton, who were old residents of Whitianga returned recently and stayed with Mr and Mrs K. White. Included in the party were Mr and Mrs Whiting and daughter. Mr and Mrs V. E. Comer are spending a holiday at Whitianga. Sgt. T. Wilson, R.A.F., is on furlough and 1 is a guest of Mr and Mrs Brophy of Whitianga. Mr and Mrs Sherlock are enjoying a holiday and staying at Dr. Liggins’ seaside home. Mi* Sherlock is postmaster at Ngatea. Their two daughters joined them at the week-end. Word has been received by Mrs W. A. Donovan, of Whenuakite, that her husband, Trooper William A. Donovan, late of Thames, has been discharged from No. 3 G.N.Z. Hospital, Bari, Italy. He was wounded early in December.
