DANCE AT WHITIANGA
PATRIOTIC FUNDS AIDED AN ENJOYABLE EVENING The folks at Whitianga again helped to swell the patriotic funds, when a dance was held in the Whitianga Hall. Although there was only a fair attendance a few of the more thoughtful people sent their donations along. Mrs Rose, assisted by Mr A. Ruddick, of Auckland, supplied the music. Their two piano-accordions harmonised -well and greatly added to the enjoyment of the evening. Mrs Rose played extras on the piano and Mr Ruddick also played his steel guitar. The Monte. Carlo was won by Mrs A. Howard and Mr A. Ruddick. There were quite a few servicemen among the dancers including two New Zealand soldiers recently repatriated from Germany. The duties of M’s.G. were well carried out by Mr Brophy and Mr Rose. The patriotic committee expressed appreciation for the services of Mi’ A. B. White who faithfully has carried out the duties of doorkeeper to all local functions.
