BACON FOR BRITAIN
SUPPLIES FROM CANADA RATION 40Z. PER WEEK A long-term agreement under which the United Kingdom woiuu. agree to purchase bacon supplies from Canada over a period of four or five years is under consideration in London. Under a new agreement effective in 1944 Canada undertakes to provide the United Kingdom with not less than 450,000,0001 b of bacon in each of the next two years. Because of the need of maintaining the British bacon ration of 4oz a week, the Canadian Agriculture Minister has asked hog producers to seek production to permit annual shipments of 6Q0,000,0001b.
