MEETING OF BOARD INSTITUTION REPORTS NEED FOR ACCOMMODATION The monthly meeting of the Thames Hospital Board was held at Thames on Tuesday, the chairman, Mr P. E. Brenan presiding. Others present were Messrs C. Kennedy, A. G. Davis, A. J. Cornes, A. H. Sutton, J. J. Shallue, C. W. Winder, S. H. Brown, J. W. Danby, W. Madgwick, C. W. Parfitt and the secretary, Mr A. L. Neighbour. The farm manager reported that the following produce had been delivered from the farm: —To the hospital: 491 gallons milk, 22. dozen lemons. To the home: 36 gallons milk, 85 dozen eggs and 701 b. potatoes. Coromandel Hospital.—Number of patients in hospital at last return, 11 males, 7 females; admitted, 12 males, 19 females; discharged, 12 males, 17 females; died, nil; remaining, 11 males, 9 females; operations, 1 male, 8 females;..out-patients seen, 74 males, 80’ females; births, no males, 2 females. “The work of the hospital proceeded as usual during the'month,” added Dr. F. Birkinshaw. ; “The man Haywood is no longer at the hospital and the grounds are not in good order. The vegetables, which was probably a saving of over £loo' yearly, will not be fit to cultivate soon owing to shortage of labour.” Mercury Bay Hospital.—Number of patients in hospital at last return, 5 females; admitted, 7 males, 6 6 females;’ discharged, 5 males, 6 females; remaining, 3 males, 4 females; outpatients, 62 males, 82 females.

“A very, busy month,” commented Dr. Birkinshaw in his report; .which added: there proceeds normally and; satisfactorily.” Paeroa Hospital.—Number of patients in wards at last return.—One male, 7 females; admitted 1 ,2 males,. 8 females; deaths, nil; discharged, 2 males, 12 females; remaining, 1 male, 3 females; outpatients, 2 males, 9 females; number of confinements 6. Waihi .Hospital.-'-Number of patients in ■ wards at last return, 15 males, 24 females; admitted, 32 males, 45 females; births, no males, 1 female; discharged', 30' males, 45 females; remaining, 18 males, 22 females; out-patients, 17 males, 16 females; operations, 15 males, 18 females.

Thames Hospital.—Number of patients in wards at last return, 53 males, 48 females; admitted, 53 males, 68 females; deaths, no males, 2 females; discharged, 50 males, 56 females; remaining, 56 males, 58 females; out-patients, 79 males, 46 females; attendances, 139 males, 61 females; operations, 22 males, 25 females. .

“The need for further accommodation for infectious and tuberculosis cases is becoming more arid' more urgent,” added Dr. E. Gifford’s report.
