SOME GOOD FIGHTS

HIKUTAIA BOXING CLUB VISIT PAID TO TURUA Some good bouts were witnessed when members of the Hikutaia Boxing Club visited Turua on Thursday evening last. The visitors and the local boys were matched according to their weight and experience in three--I'ound, no decision contests. The Hikutaia club officials who intend promoting a tournament at a later date were well pleased with the keenness and ability of the Turua boys whose future tution and training will be in the capable hands of Mr Burt. Perhaps- the best bout was between R. Lowry and J. Eax who displayed a good knowledge of the game, while the most popular exhibition with the spectators was a willing affair between R. Downie and W. H. Maunder. Mr Bert Clarry of Hikutaia was the third man in the ring. Bouts were arranged as follows, abbreviations (T.) Turua, (H.) Hikutaia:—M. Burt (T.) v. P. Mataroa (T.), N. Jamieson (T.> v. S. McGregor (H.), ;G. Burt (T.) v. R. Moore (T.), C. McGregor (H.) v. J. Clark (T.), B. Lowry (H.) v. J. Bax (H.), A. Arden (H.) v. C. Bax (H.), B. Clark (T.) v. A. Jamieson (T.), G. Burt (T.) v. R.
