The ’Dominion president’s letter was read and stress was made for members to all take the Women’s Institute magazine, “Home and Country.” Mrs Sharpies, secretary, read an interesting report of the year’s activities. Miss Lyon presented the 'balance sheet which showed help to the Whitianga Soldiers’ Fund and Soldiers’ Parcels Fund. Two spinning wheels had been purchased. Mrs Armstrong spoke of the good work the members of the spinning circle had done, their work being of a high standard. Mrs Ralph and Mrs' Sharpies retired from office and, the election of president and committee took place. Mrs J. W. Smith spoke words of appreciation on behalf of the members to Mrs Ralph and little Ann Tucker presented a lovely bouquet to her. Miss E. Lee said how much work falls on the secretary and that all appreciated Mrs Sharpie’s good work. She then asked Mrs .Sharpies to accept a bouquet of flowers. Miss Lyon was also the recipient of a bouquet presented by Mrs Bronlund.

Mrs Ralph was again re-elected as president. The committee was elected as under, Mrs Bronlund, Mrs J. W. Smith, Sharpies, H. Simpson, L. White, Mrs Brophy, Mrs R. Smith, Mrs McKenzie, Mrs Russell, Miss Lyon and Miss Lee. Mrs Forman, W.'D.F.U., president of the 'Colville 'branch, spoke a few interesting words to the members. Mrs McKenzie read a pioneer story which proved an interesting one and all enjoyed it. Roll call: “Suggestion for next year’s programme” was well responded to. Mrs Watts handed in scarves for the Merchant Navy. She said her eyesight was failing and these might be her last, but all joined in wishing her the best in her future visit to the eye specialist.

A lovely afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Armstrong, Russell and Ralph.

The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
