STOCK SALE AT WAIHOU CATTLE PRICES IMPROVE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Ltd., report that at their stock sale held at Waihou on Thursday, a medium entry of sheep came forward. Competition was steady arid values remained firm. A medium yarding of cattle was in demand and values improved on last sale. A medium yarding of fat pigs and a light entry of stores and weaners was penned. Competition for all classes was steady, values being on a par with other centres. Quotations: — Sheep.—Medium fat wethers, 24s to 255; fat hoggets, to 225; fat ewes, 20s to 21s 6d; older fat ewes, 12s to 14s 6d; forward woolly lambs, 17s 6d to 21s 7d; store woolly lambs, l'3s 2d to 14s 3d; store shorn lambs, 12s 6d to 13 s; medium 2-th. ewes, to 245; 6d; aged ewes, 9s to 9s 6d. Cattle.—Heavy fat cows, £8 to £8 10s; light young cows and heifers, £5 10s to £6 17s 6d; heavy iboner cows, £5 to £6; medium, £4 to £4 15s; store cows, £3 to £3 15s; Jersey heifer calves, £3 5s to £4; bulls, £4 12s 6d to £5 15s.
